Don't use the word "TRY"

In talking to the President of the company I was working at yesterday, I told him I would "try" to do something. He responded "We don't use the word 'try' here. You either will or you won't. Next time someone tells you they are going to 'try' to do something. Challenge them on the spot and see what happens. Ultimately they will come back and say "well I tried."

He definitley struck a cord that needed to be struck at that moment. While we are living our dreams or deciding whether or not to embark on a new journey, we play it safe by saying that we'll TRY to do it. More often than not, it doesn't happen because we use the word 'try" to back us up and defend our position. Making the decision to DO IT ot NOT DO IT will lead you into the acutal experience, forcing you to take direct ACTION on your word.

The next time you or anyone you know says they'll 'try' to do something. You or they make the decision to do it or not. Anything else in between will get you NOWHERE FAST.
