My London Playground

After experiencing a few dance classes at London's top dance school (Pineapple Dance), I have to admit that the classes are surely not up to LA and NYC standards in the commercial/hip hop world. However, I must say that they do offer at least one thing: A comfortable and open envrionment to train and actually LEARN. The competitive nature of the two American dance capitals where dancers fight to book jobs is somewhat prevelant in London, but it definitley does not dominate the scene.

From the commercial scene, to the underground/street world, to the contemporary/concert, London offers much more than just the 'MAKE IT OR BREAK IT' attitude for dancers. Sure, that attitude still exists. And of course, they may be underdeveloped in many areas, but it all depends on how you look at it. London offers many other things for dancers and artists looking to grow and expand their skills. A playground to learn, to experience, and to be inspired.

I understand why I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Alas, My London Playground.
