party for a cause: Free the Children Artbound Event

For those of you who don't know, I have been a supporter of the youth arts organization Free the Children for a few years now.  When me and Natasha Powell created our first Catalyst show, we raised $1,000 for the Artbound Initiative which helps build art schools in Kenya.  A few years after, we performed in their annual charity party with the theme "The Evolution of Pop" and performed a pretty amazing Michael Jackson set.

We've been asked to perform again this year and additionally, I've been on the committee to help organize the event.  This year's theme is Footloose and we'll be performing an 80's underground dance scene inspired by Kevin Bacon's infamous angry warehouse scene below.  Me and amazing choreographer Jojo Zolina will be collaborating and I'm excited to get into rehearsals with the dancers to bang this one out! Other performers of the night include aerial artist Jamie Holmes, La Rouge Entertainment, electric violinist Dr. Draw and a Canadian Opera Singer.

If you haven't been to this party before, it's bananas and gets sold out easily every year.  Everyone definitely parties and it's all for an incredible cause! Hit me up if you want more information on the charity and tickets!
